Aliensc64

After several trips to the theatre and reading the novel, the next logical step in my Aliens love affair was with the c64 incarnation. Comprised of several mini-games, this Activision classic kept a supreme balance of tension and action while recreating several key scenes from the movie.
Ghosts

One of the first c64 games I purchased. The first c64 digitized voice I heard, and it floored me. "Ghostbuster!" Followed by that unfortunately eerie Ray Park Jr. tune. From the ability to purchase and outfit your car and paranormal equipment, to the unnecessary driving sections, to the imminent tension of several ghosts closing in on Zuul, the c64 couldn't do much better than this baby.

The quintessential c64 football game. My friends and I bought the team maker add on, and laboriously proceeded to recreate the entire NFL. It was quite a budding social life I led. The game played like no other, and in terms of action was superior to TV Sports Football, Worlds Greatest, or Super Bowl Sunday.

F13-3

Ok, so maybe not a classic. Or even a great game. Still, there was something about this bizarre game. From the opening SID chip rendition of the Beethoven's 5th symphony (not the overly obvious, jason theme, mind you), to the black and blue striped jumpsuit that Jason wears (without his mask, no less), this game had me dumbfounded as to the designer's state of mind, or their even basic familiarity with the Friday the 13th mythos. And the questionable morality of the game: you attacked everyone to find out if they were Jason. By the end of the game, you ended up stabbing, clubbing, and terrorizing more people than the man himself. So many ethical questions here....Bizarre....

Sinbad

Ah, Cinemaware, how much I miss you. Another classic epic tale, involving this time Sinbad and his middle-eastern travels. This game had amazing music, visuals, cinematics, and even an MTV style music video. Although a nice port to the c64, I was incredible envious of my friends Amiga translation. The introduction was astounding. Still, great fun.

It's funny. I can't stand the Olympics in real life, but give me an Epyx digital translation and I'm more than content. Again, brilliant game, graphics, music. I spent so much time attempting to master all those events, I still feel like I paid my dues in some way or another.

Wow. I was captivated by those gorgeous graphics, by that ingenious behind the pitcher view. Although I'm not particularly a baseball, this game almost made me a convert. I have never played a baseball game as much as this, regardless of the system. For me, no amount of 3-D accelerated graphics while match the simple beauty of this game.

I really loved this game. Consisted of 2 distinct sections: A flight sim portion and an overhead espionage portion. The flight section had you communicating with surrounding aircraft en route to your destination, where one incorrect call sign could lead to a dogfight. The espionage portion had you sneaking around enemy camps, or "infiltrating", for you pedantic types, attempting to locate documents or complete or mission objectives.
